Houghton, Michigan

We arrived in Houghton, Michigan and are staying in a nice city campground on the water’s edge.  The weather has warmed up into the 80’s and we are seeing more boats, etc. on the lake.  We are able to walk to downtown and found a Finnish restaurant that has a good breakfast.  On the way back to the RV we watched the bridge being raised to allow a large boat to pass underneath and then it is lowered to allow cars to pass from Houghton to Hancock.
During a free fishing day, Frank did a little casting and caught a northern and a pike.  There have been some lovely hikes with the longest being 8 miles along a ridge.   This was a nice place for our lunch break along the trail.  We end up on the next ridge and walked back along the road to our truck. Along the way we encountered a couple of mother grouse who were angry at us so Frank had to persuade her that we were not interested in her babies.  This is what the sunset at 9:47 pm looks like from the back of our RV.

Great fishing pictures but the Mom & Baby Grouses picture is not showing up! We are just back from California - will post that soon.
