Relaxing Week

We stopped at a grocery store on the way back to the RV one evening and found rhubarb which is a favorite of mine. Unfortunately we only bought enough for one pie. Will have to stop by that store again soon.
While I was baking this pie, Frank went out to fish. When baked, I walked down to the river's edge and couldn't find him. After walking further down the shoreline I finally spotted him. He had waded about halfway across the river. On his way back to the RV he noticed he had lost the sole of his boots. Since they hadn't been used in over 13 years, I guess it is not surprising that they fell apart.

One evening we struck up a conversation with a couple who were staying nearby in their RV . The river had flooded the bottom part of their home. It is built on stilts but the furnace/air conditioner was under water. She told me she was reading Shirley MacLaine's latest book and I asked her how she liked it as I watched Oprah interview Shirley about this book. Well several days later this kind woman knocked on my door and gave me the book. She had checked it out of the local library so I read it within two days and will take it back on our next trip to town.

That prompted me to make these coin/card holders to give to others as a thank you. The great thing about RVing is that you meet some of the nicest people.

Last night as we were eating supper I looked out the window and saw this couple sitting outside facing their RV. They were actually watching TV. There appears to be a little door that when opened reveals a TV. We are "roughing it" indeed.

Afternoon storms are upon us so my fellow quilter has been cutting out and stitching his next quilt. I have a purse, quilt, and skirt all cut and ready for my turn at the sewing machine.

Hope that rhubarb pie tasted as good as it looks in the picture!
