Fishing and Purses

Yesterday we drove over to Bull Shoals Lake to look at the State Park campground and to see how much water is being let out of the dam. Here is the view from the campground. They normally generate electricity from this dam.
This morning we went to another area to do some fishing. Frank caught 4 small ones. It was nice and peaceful and I read the May issue of Oprah magazine that I found in the RV park's little library. It was a great issue about a guy that is exploring healthy foods that have been around for centuries and are grown in South America. He is trying to revive these farmers who use no chemicals. He also believes that we need to be eating a mostly plant based diet. And has discovered new foods that these people have consumed for many, many years.

This past week I have gotten my little sewing machine out and have completed this purse and tote. Of course I added pockets to both and the tote includes a zippered pocket.
So on to the next sewing project which may include a skirt along with starting my next quilt. We have discovered three quilt shops but so far haven't purchased much as I am trying to refrain and use up the fabric I already have.

Another good find was a health food store that sells Daiya "cheese" which is non-dairy and casein free along with Ezeikel breads. They also carry bulk items like flour, oatmeal, steel cut oats, etc. They sell tempeh but the owner informed me that she tried seiten which did not sell well so she no longer carries it. It was a disappointment as Frank was okay with it as a substitute for chicken. Will have to wait till we get to a more populated area to replenish my supply.
