We stayed in Iowa for a total of 12 days and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family. Poor Opal one of our daughter's greyhounds has not been feeling well and is struggling to get better. She is a real sweet lady and we hope that she will survive this illness.

This is what we encountered just before we arrived at our campground for the evening. It is hard to see but there are about 6 police cars that surrounded a car and a lady finally got out. As they approached her cautiously she finally tried to run. Being middle aged and somewhat overweight we could not figure out what she was thinking. We were just waiting to see them "take her down" which the policemen finally did - I must say slowly and as nicely as they could. They finally left and we went on our merry way.
I have been working on becoming vegetarian and it is hard when most of the world is not. However I am becoming more determined and after doing much reading and researching am finally becoming vegan. My husband is not totally convinced but I have to admit that he comments after eating meat, etc, that it doesn't taste that good to him. Slowly I have been sneaking in new healthier ingredients. My lovely sister makes the best potato salad a person has ever tasted. We had a lovely time in her new house on Sunday when she invited all her family and sisters and their families. I have a plastic container of leftover potato salad which I shall enjoy for the next several days. The mayonnaise may not be healthy but the rest of the ingredients surely are.
