Iowa

While driving north to visit relatives in Iowa we could see these wind mills which are the same things you see driving through west Texas. Since Iowa is pretty windy year round these generate clean electricity and are showing up all over. Notice how flat the landscape is here. The next picture to the right is of the land that my great grandfather farmed. There was once a large house on the hillside where he raised 12 children. It was demolished several years ago. The land here is gently rolling hills.

Here are the Moore girls with Cousin Bill after having a tour of the cemetery to point out where our ancestors are buried. The church in the background was built by my great grandfather and several other farmers in the area. It was fun meeting and talking about family history. We hope to continue the gatherings and finding more relatives to gather.
