From our first stop in Annapolis Royal we traveled to a quaint town called
Lunenburg which has been designated a National Historic District under UNESCO. So the houses, stores, etc. adhere to strict regulations. It was a very colourful village that was once a thriving fishing and ship building community.
It was very hilly but nice that we could walk from our RV park each day into town and stop for tea and scones and checking the internet. Luckily we were able to visit a farmer's market while there and bought some smoked salmon.
Next stop was Halifax which is the second largest harbour in the world and that could be natural harbour. Should have listened more closely to the guide. This was also a hilly city but fun to walk to all the tourist areas. We visited the Citadel and walked to the Victorian Gardens and had a nice conversation with an older gentleman. Canadians know a lot about the United States. We took a ferry ride to Dartmouth and bought some rhubarb and cinnamon rolls at a farmer's market there.
On our last day there we were walking through an historic church and heard a whistle outside so went out to watch this Naked Bike Ride which is held to promote less dependance on oil and safety for bike riders.
