It occurred to me the other day that 11 years ago we planned a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine but did not go that summer as Frank had bypass surgery that June. We just didn't go in the following years as Nate was working summers and at 17 wasn't interested in traveling with us. Interesting that we were planning a similar trip this summer and Frank had heart surgery again. Mmmm. Maybe we weren't meant to travel there.
On another note last summer while drivng through Canada on our way back to the States we decided to spend a couple of days in the Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. As we got nearer I remembered that almost exactly 30 years ago Frank and I had gotten married in July and then spent a week camping in the Tetons around the same time frame. I have to say until we spent some time in Banff National Park, I thought the Tetons were the prettiest mountains. But Alaska is just amazing and I am glad that we drove through and stayed in campgrounds rather than a cruise.
