Our original start date was May 20th but since the weather was predicted to be bad in northern Texas, Oklahoma and into Arkansas we decided to wait another day. Tuesday came and we decided that waiting another day would see the rain and storms clear out of the area.
Wednesday
was the day we hopped in the packed RV and hit the road arriving at
Denton Ferry RV park in Cotter, AR where we planned to stay a week or
so.
Upon arrival and upon hookup we discovered a leak as Barb discovered water spraying onto the floor. The leak is in the flush out area for the holding tanks so that was unhooked. The next discovery was that the hot water is not working when hooked up to electricity, however it works on the gas setting. A trip to a local RV repair shop and a life history by the clerk at the counter revealed a part in the water heater had gone bad. We have an appointment on Friday to get both fixed and then next week we will be back on the road traveling toward our destination. Meanwhile we are doing a little fishing.
